SingTel customers in some parts of Bukit Panjang, Woodlands and Bukit Timah were hit with intermittent interruptions on their fibre services on Friday.
On the telco’s Facebook page, some customers posted messages on the erratic fibre services that affected their internet access.
SingTel spokesperson Gerald said that "our engineers are working to fix a service disruption in the Bukit Panjang, Woodlands and Bukit Timah areas."
"Please try your service again later. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," he added.
SingTel said the problem has occurred on and off throughout the day and some customers may have experienced interruptions to some fibre services, Channel NewsAsia reported.
The telco also added that services are being progressively restored from 7.30pm.
SingTel said it is in touch with its customers living in these areas via SMS and have also kept them informed through call centre messages.
The cause of the problem is being investigated.
Singaporean director Anthony Chen described as “surreal” the 15-minute standing ovation that followed the world premiere of his debut feature film "Ilo Ilo" at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. Though the ending of the premiere couldn’t have been more perfect, the 29-year-old Chen said the beginning was quite “nerve-wrecking” as it was marred by technical glitches.
