Stars come out for Fashion Against Aids

Rapper Akon, who says he has "a lot of friends who've been in the situation where their friends and family have been affected by HIV," is joined by other stars from the fields of music and film to feature in H&M's annual Fashion Against Aids campaign.

A crop of current 'it' kids including Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley, singers Sky Ferreira and Keri Hilson and The Misshapes star alongside Hollywood diva Selma Blair in the ads, dressed in jumpsuits, hooded sweaters, and spring coats.

"Artists are an essential part of our campaigns, as they are role models for so many young people,"  Ninette Murk, founder and creative director of H&M's partner charity Designers Against AIDS (DAA), said. "...[W]e're asking them to help spread the safe sex message on social media: Twitter, Facebook, their own websites and at their concerts too."

The collection is unisex this year and, apart from the basic clothing range, includes some trendy accessories including plastic carrier bags or light harnesses.

All designs will be available in H&M's Divided department and online from April 26, with 25 percent of sales donated to DAA and various other international HIV/AIDS prevention projects.
