3 Apr – The latest addition to the relatively young cast of Josh Trank's upcoming "The Fantastic Four" film reboot has narrowed down to Toby Kebbell, who will be taking on the role of the heroes' archenemy, Doctor Doom.

Collider reported that the 31-year-old English actor has been selected by 20th Century Fox from a shortlist of Sam Riley, Eddie Redmayne and Domhnall Gleeson to play Victor von Doom a.k.a. Doctor Doom.

Negotiations are currently underway, but there is always a small chance Kebbell would refuse the role.

The last actor to step into the shoes of Doctor Doom in the last two "Fantastic Four" films was Julian McMahon ("Bait 3D").

Josh Trank ("Chronicle") will direct the reboot, with Miles Teller as Reed Richards a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm a.k.a. Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm a.k.a. Human Torch, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm a.k.a. The Thing.

The upcoming film will exist in the same universe as the "X-Men" film series, based on the "Ultimate Fantastic Four" comic.

Although filming would only begin in a few weeks, Fox has already announced a 14 July 2017 release date for its sequel.

Kebbell previously appeared in the films "Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time", "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "War Horse", and "Wrath Of The Titans". Before "The Fantastic Four", the actor will appear in the sequel "Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes".
