Twitter index: Guns N’ Roses headline Rock in Rio music festival

Microbloggers are enthusiastically tweeting about this year’s Brazilian music festival Rock in Rio, sharing their festival experiences and posting about their favorite performances as the week-long festival comes to a close.

The massive festival welcomed headliners such as Rihanna, Elton John, Metallica, Shakira, Stevie Wonder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Guns N’ Roses.

Guns N’ Roses opened their set with the title track from their album Chinese Democracy. Lead vocalist Axl Rose then asked the crowd to “please bear with us and give us a little bit, a little second here to figure out what to do about not falling on our asses.”

While the crowd seemed to be enthralled by the performance, Twitter users were not so impressed and tweeted “Gn'R's performance at Rock n Rio is just absolutely tepid. DJAshba on stage is the only thing worth watching,” and “I'm sorry but DJ Ashba playing Slash's solos just kind of bums me out, as does middle-aged Axl with his bro-stache.”

The Guns N’ Roses song “Rocket Queen” and the band’s cover of Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die” are also trending in Twitter’s most talked about topics.

The name of Brazilian model and TV presenter (and rumored girlfriend of Axl Rose) “Ellen Jabour” is in eighth place.

The hashtags “#MeAndYouCantDate,” “#ThingsThatGetMePissed” and “#YouNeedToStopIt” fill first, second and fifth places on the chart.

Twitter users report that Justin Bieber’s “swagger coach” Ryan Good is “leaving the crew.” Twitterers are pleading, “Ryan Good can't leave the tour. Ryan was the one who cheered Justin up when he was down, we need him to put that smile on his face.”
