Twitter index: Tweeps look for deals on Cyber Monday
Twitterers have been preparing themselves for the start of Cyber Monday -- a day when stores in the US hold massive online sales -- by tweeting links to good deals and posting about the items they hope to buy.
Online retailers are also using the microblogging site to promote their discounted products and advertise their brand on the morning of November 28.
Microbloggers are suggesting “cool” names to use on rival social network Facebook with the third place topic “#CoolestFacebookName.” Popular suggestions include “‘1000 people’ so when you like someones status its says "1000 people like this" and “‘No one’ So it will say: No one likes your status, No one likes your photo, No one commented on your status.”
Pork chops, chips with hot sauce, treacle tart, gingerbread men and macaroons are some of the weird midnight snacks Twitter users say they salivate over.
The movies “Layer Cake,” “Jackass 3.5” and “Coming To America” fill second, fifth and eighth places and the MTV series “Guy Code” is in sixth place.
German-speaking Tweeps are wishing everyone a good morning (“Guten Morgen”), Dutch-speakers are discussing Michelin-starred restaurants in the Netherlands and English-speaking microbloggers are complaining that they can’t sleep.
