Young Brit dies following 12-hr continuous Xbox session

London, July 30 (ANI): A 20-year-old British guy was killed by a blood clot after he kept playing his 'Xbox' for almost 12 hours at a stretch. The post mortem revealed that Chris Staniforth suffered a deep vein thrombosis, which was triggered as he sat in one position for a long spell. "He lived for his Xbox. I never dreamed he was in any danger," the Sun quoted Staniforth's father David, from Sheffield, as saying. "As a parent you think playing computer games can't do them any harm because you know what they are doing. "Kids all over the country are playing these games for long periods - they don't realise it could kill them," he added. David also recalled how Staniforth revealed about his chest pain to his friend before suddenly collapsing. "He told his friend how he was woken in the night by a strange feeling in his chest," he stated. "He said his heart rate had been incredibly low but it went back to normal and he fell asleep again. "Then he dropped a packet of chewing gum and as he picked it up, he jolted back and began to spasm," he recalled. Before he could be taken to the hospital, he succumbed to the attack. (ANI)
