15-year-old arrested for alleged loanshark harassment

A 15-year-old was arrested for suspected involvement in loanshark harassment.

The teen allegedly set fire to the front door of a HDB unit at Woodlands Street 82, said a police report on 3 April.

The youth was arrested three days later at Block 351 Tampines Street 33. He is believed to be involved in other cases of loanshark harassment.

The teen will be charged in court on 8 April.

First time offenders found guilty of loanshark harassment can be jailed for up to five years, fined at least $5,000 and up to $50,000, and caned between three and six strokes.
