2 injured in Belleville home invasion

A violent home invasion in Belleville, Ont., left a 61-year-old man with life-threatening injuries, Belleville Police said in a news release Wednesday.

Police and paramedics responded to a home on Russell Street at 2:07 a.m. Monday, where they learned that unknown suspects had forced their way in and assaulted two occupants.

One man, 59, suffered minor injuries. A second man, 61, was first transported to Belleville General Hospital before being transferred to Kingston General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There is no update from police on his condition.
