200 couples tie the knot in Peru mass wedding

The ceremony, held in the capital Lima, was presided over by Lima Mayor Jorge Munoz. The couples had to go through a health screening before they were allowed to attend.

The oldest couple there were 82-year-old Santiago Loyola Sifuentes and 87-year-old Olga Velasquez Laurencio and the youngest were 24-year-old Marco Robles Montenegro and nineteen-year-old Judith Tataje Agurto.

The couples were given a fruit basket and offered a coffee break by local authorities. The ceremonies were aired via the Facebook page of Lima's Municipality for relatives who were unable to attend.

After Munoz pronounced them husbands and wives, the couples kissed.

Then the starry-eyed newlyweds picked up their marriage licenses and posed for pictures at the venue's gardens.
