4-star Gallagher is Honkai: Star Rail's first Fire Abundance character, coming to in version 2.1

We now know all the new characters coming with Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1 in mid-March as developer HoYoverse revealed Gallagher as that update's new 4-star character!

Gallagher wields the Fire element and follows the Path of Abundance, making him the first character of that element-Path combo. Gallagher will be a welcome addition to the Fire roster, as almost all currently playable characters of that element have had offensive roles except for the Preservation Trailblazer.

What to know about Honkai: Star Rail's Gallagher

Gallagher works as a security officer of the Bloodhound Family, one of the five great families that form 'The Family', the ruling faction of Penacony and followers of the Aeon of Harmony Xipe. Aside from the Bloodhound Family, the only other great family we currently know of is the Iris Family.

And while Gallagher's line of work is in security, his true passion seems to lie in mixology. Even if he is described as a "slovenly and indolent mixologist", he himself treats it as a "sensory skill" and says "it's not just about mixing beverages" but "about mixing the experiences of life".

Aside from his passion for drinks, Gallagher is also described as a courteous yet vigilant man whose unorganised apparel and casual demeanor belies a complicated past.

Gallagher will be voiced by Erik Braa in the game's English dub, Mikami Satoshi in the Japanese dub, Ma Yufei in the Chinese dub, and Park Sang-Hoon in the Korean dub.

Gallagher will be the third new character coming in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.1 alongside the 5-stars Acheron and Aventurine. Judging by the order of release for their reveals, we can expect Gallagher to be one of the rate-up 4-stars in Aventurine's banner during the second half of the update while Acheron will take the spotlight in the second half.

With Penacony set to be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.0 on 6 February, we can expect Acheron, Aventurine, and Gallagher to arrive with version 2.1 on 17 March. But while Acheron's release is still some time away, players can also look forward to the arrival of three new characters in Black Swan, Sparkle, and Misha in version 2.0.

Honkai: Star Rail also recently revealed the Ever-Flame Mansion as a new group of villains menacing Penacony and likely acting as the primary antagonists of the upcoming arc. While we don't know if they'll end up being playable, we are just as hype to see Duke Inferno and his 'children' Constance, Caterina, Dubra, and Akash take the spotlight!

Honkai: Star Rail is currently in version 1.6, which features three new characters in the 5-star Ice Harmony character Ruan Mei, the 5-star Imaginary Hunt character Dr. Ratio, and the 4-star Quantum Destruction character Xueyi. Dr. Ratio was also given to players for free at the start of the second half of this version.
