Calla Spa

You can’t tell from the outside, but this urban retreat sprawls across an area of 10,000 sq ft. Opened in early 2016, it’s a one-stop wellness spa that offers soothing massages, mineral baths and even treatment areas that are divided by gender.

Experience: If you’re looking to treat yourself after a long day at work or busy afternoon shopping, stop by for an invigorating Foot Reflexology session. Traditional foot reflexology works on the principle that all the organs in the body are connected to reflex points found on our feet. Massaging them helps to restore balance and improve overall well-being. As you sit back and let the therapist work his magic, you have the option of watching a show on the retractable TV, charging up your iPhone or taking a quick snooze on the plush chair. The lounge is large, spacious and houses up to 24 chairs for total relaxation.

Good-to-know: Guests can enjoy a leisurely meal at the bistro on-the-house before or after their treatments.

Price: From $138 for a 60-minute treatment.

Ikeda Spa Prestige

Located just a stone’s throw away from the financial district, Ikeda Spa Prestige is truly a place for respite. One of the first spas to bring in the Japanese onsen experience to Singapore, you’ll be pampered by the steaming waters said to promote better blood circulation and melt away stress. The communal bath uses the prized hinoki wood, a traditional material used to build temples, shrines and palaces.

Experience: Revitalize your mind and body with the Zen Candle Therapy Massage. Before your treatment starts, choose between three uplifting treatment oils — woody Bamboo Bliss, floral Sakura Passion, or citrusy Yuzu Refresh. The massage makes use of unique candles that are packed with emollients, vitamins and antioxidants. They are kept warmed at an ‘ideal’ 42 degrees Celsius, and gently applied to skin during the treatment. Together with the deft strokes of the therapist, the oils from the candle help to deeply relax muscles and with lymphatic drainage.

Good-to-know: Book your experience with Viator and you’ll be able to enjoy a complimentary 30-minute onsen experience.

Price: $240 for a 90-minute massage.
