Last year did not go to plan for ONE Championship lightweight Amir Khan, but despite the obstacles he faced, the Singaporean KO kid is carrying positive vibes into 2021.

Late in 2020, Khan’s father lost his life to brain cancer. Then, in Khan’s last bout at ONE: COLLISION COURSE II in December, he dropped a narrow split decision loss to South Korean Dae Song Park.

Still, the Evolve MMA standout is maintaining a positive outlook on life.

As seen in the Instagram video below, Khan shadowboxes on the daily and recites his most powerful affirmations – some of which were instilled by his late father.

“I’m an [sic] MMA World Champion,” he said.

“Focus on the process.”

“KO king.”

“I’m rich in life.”

“I inspire.”

“Move forward, never stop trying.”

With that type of outlook on life, it’s no wonder why the Singaporean owns a 69 percent finishing rate and holds the record for most KOs in ONE Championship.

And of course, Khan is looking to get back into the Circle this year. But who will be standing across from him?

He’s expressed interest in climbing back up the ranks of the lightweight division and challenging for the belt that will be decided when ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee defends his gold against Timofey Nastyukhin at “ONE on TNT II” on 14 April.

Download the ONE Super App and be the first to find out when Khan will return to the Circle.

In the meantime, catch all the action from “ONE on TNT I” on Thursday, 8 April.
