A 63-year-old man was found dead in his taxi on Wednesday morning (1 August).

The police said that they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at Blk 675 Hougang Ave 8 at 8.05am. The man was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that the deceased Singaporean was lying in a Trans-Cab vehicle with a door opened and his legs outside it.

In response to media queries, Trans-Cab spokesperson Jasmine Tan identified the man as Tor Tion Hee, a taxi driver who joined the company on 9 July, 2011.

“We are very saddened by (his) passing. It is a great loss to us and we extend our condolences to his family,” she said.

Tan added that the company will be assisting Tor’s family members and, if required, the police with ongoing investigations.
