[UPDATED 23 Sept 2015 9:00am: Added action taken by students]

The two boys involved in the bullying incident at Shuqun Secondary School have filed police reports, reported Channel NewsAsia. It is believed that the police are investigating the incident.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) and Shuqun Secondary School on Tuesday addressed the bullying incident at the school after a video of one student hitting slapping another student's head and then hitting him and another with a book in class went viral. The school has counselled the students involved, adding that the student in question "deeply regrets" his actions, reported The Straits Times.

The school has also spoken to the adjunct teacher who was in the classroom when the incident occurred.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, MOE said, "The school will continue to work with the students involved on observing appropriate boundaries and behaviour in the future. All parents of students involved have been informed of the actions taken by the school."

Uploaded by All Singapore Stuff on its Facebook community page on Monday morning, the video showed a boy slapping another boy on his head as music blasted in the background.

All Singapore Stuff described the video as "small-sized secondary school students getting slapped and hit by class bully". As of late Monday afternoon, the post had gotten at least 7,000 shares and more than 900 comments, many of which were expressions of outrage.
