APAC Predator League 2022 in Tokyo with US$400,000 prize pool kicks off 11 Nov
The Asia-Pacific (APAC) Predator League 2022 Grand Finals will be held in Tokyo, Japan from 11 to 13 November and will feature 14 Dota 2 teams from all across the APAC region battling for their share of the tournament's combined US$400,000 prize pool.
The Acer-owned event will be the largest Dota 2 tournament in Japan to date and will feature a local team, REJECT May, to show the world the country has a place in the game's esports scene.
The other 13 teams earned their place in Tokyo through direct invites or through the qualifiers held in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, Myanmar, Australia, India, and Bangladesh.
Some of the most recognisable teams in the event include Team SMG, which lists former Alliance carry Nikolay "Nikobaby" Nikolov as a stand-in, as well as Filipino powerhouse Polaris Esports.
Three other teams from the Philippines have also flown to Tokyo — TNC Predator, Grindsky Esports, and Execration.
Indonesia will be fielding Macan Semeru, a team featuring veterans Randy "Dreamocel" Sapoetra and Tri "Jhocam" Kuncoro.
Malaysia will be represented by ChubbyBoiz, a stack that previously played in the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) under the banner of RSG.
Meanwhile, Singapore will be represented by LaHEE, a squad led by veterans Galvin "mizu" Kang and Nicholas "xFreedom" Lim.
Representing Mongolia will be Lilgun, another DPC stalwart, while Myanmar will be fielding Yangon Galacticos. India will be represented by Revengers while The Covenant will carry the banner for Bangladesh.
Last but not least, Boonz + Goonz will be coming from down under after winning the Australian qualifier.
Alongside the Dota 2 competition, the APAC Predator League 2022 Grand Finals will also be holding a separate PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) competition.
