Ben Platt may have not taken charge of planning his upcoming wedding to his fiancé Noah Galvin, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some must-haves for the big day.

“The two musts are just really never leaving each other’s side,” the actor, 30, told The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal of his upcoming nuptials to Galvin, 29.

“I’ve heard that advice from a lot of couples," he explained. "Just like don’t go off and socialize alone, really go through it together, be passengers in it and don’t feel like you have to be the proprietors of the event, let it happen to you, so definitely that.”

“And then dancing is number one,” continued Platt. “That’s how we show our love and one of our greatest joys is to dance. So the playlist and the energy and just the sweatiness of the dancefloor is how I will judge the success of the wedding.”

Galvin echoed these thoughts during an interview with PEOPLE in July, with the actor and singer sharing that “dance” was the “most important” part of their day.

Platt and Galvin got engaged in November 2022 after Platt proposed at the rooftop restaurant Laser Wolf in New York City.

The Dear Evan Hansen alums announced the happy news on their respective Instagram accounts, with Platt sharing snaps from the proposal and highlighting Galvin’s ring.

"He agreed to hang out forever," he wrote in his caption, while Galvin posted the same photos plus a selfie of the couple showing off his ring and wrote, "I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours."

Opening up further about the pair tying the knot, Platt told The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal that his fiancé has taken the reins when it comes to planning.

“Noah is very much the aesthetician of the two of us,” he said. “He’s very gifted visually and in terms of really having excellent taste, so I really defer.”

“I’m a really good yes-no man in terms of what feels right and what doesn’t feel right, but in terms of the generating of ideas he has really taken the lead and I’m lucky to ride the coattails of his good choices,” he added.
