A motorcyclist was killed on the PIE on Monday morning (8 August), in the second such fatal accident within two days.

Police said they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a motorcycle along PIE towards Changi Airport after the Dunearn exit at 7.21am. A 31-year-old male motorcyclist was found lying motionless and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Media reports said the motorcyclist hit a wooden plank and flew over the road divider to the opposite side of the expressway, where he was hit by a car.

Police said both directions of PIE after the Dunearn exit and after the Clementi Road exit were congested and advised motorists to avoid using the road.

Police investigations are ongoing.

On Monday night, another biker died in an accident in Woodlands involving a car, a lorry and two motorcycles. The car flipped over a road divider, hitting the two motorbikes. Police arrested the driver and are investigating that case too.
