Neil Patrick Harris Has the Magic Touch in First Emmy Awards Promo [Exclusive Video]

We can pretty much be certain that Neil Patrick Harris has some tricks up his sleeve as the host of this year's Emmys, but let's hope it's not making the Emmy statuettes disappear, like he does in this promo for the upcoming awards show!

This 30-second ad, the first of the year, has Harris addressing a question that he says he's asked all the time: Why he hosts the Emmys in a tux. Is it because the event is a formal affair honoring the most talented stars on the small screen? Nope. "It's because I perform TV magic," Harris says as he (abracadabra!) makes an Emmy vanish.

He's clearly no David Copperfield, but he's definitely a skilled awards show host: This will be his second year hosting TV's biggest night, and he's hosted the Tony Awards four times since 2009.

The promo goes on to relive some of the event's recent memorable moments: from Jon Cryer's win for "Two and a Half Men" to Aaron Paul's ("Breaking Bad") teary-eyed acceptance speech, when he said, "Thank you, Hollywood, for allowing me to be part of your dreams."

To watch the magic unfold, tune in to the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, 9/22, at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT on CBS.
