Aaron Tan had been in the line since 5:00am this morning when we first talked to him. The 38-year-old, who works in advertising, was lucky enough to be on leave the day the PlayStation 4 launched in Singapore. The PlayStation 3 launch event had been his first console launch, and while he had long planned to attend the PlayStation 4 one, he said that he had “never expected” to be first in line. But he was. Janine Khoo, 16, became Singapore's first equestrian athlete in 30 years to win an individual gold medal at the SEA Games in Myanmar on Wednesday. Yet just two months ago, there were doubts if the Methodist Girls’ School student could even make it to the SEA Games, after she was thrown off her horse in a training session in early October. It came at the worst moment with her 'O' Levels less than two weeks away. She shattered her cheekbone during the fall and had to go for a six-hour reconstructive facial surgery. She needed 21 stitches inside her right cheek and titanium plates inserted into her face.
