NEA to introduce PM2.5 reading in PSI

Singapore’s air quality will be classified in the “moderate” range more often, the National Environment Agency said on Tuesday.

However, this is no cause for alarm — it's simply the result of a new integrated air quality reporting system, the NEA explained.

Starting 1 May, the agency will incorporate readings of fine particulate matter in the air, PM2.5, into the Pollutant Standards Index (PSI).

Singapore jazz singer Dawn Ho punched after Sentosa gig

An incident after her regular evening show at Sentosa on Sunday left local jazz singer Dawn Ho with a swollen face and a bleeding nose. She and her friend were attacked by a man and a woman while they were being picked up at a taxi stand.

Taking to Facebook on Monday night, Ho wrote in her account of the incident that she was waiting for her bandmates to pick her up at a taxi stand when she witnessed the man and his two friends -- one female, one male -- approaching a limousine taxi and speaking to the driver and the limousine staff rudely.

Ho said she then went up to the trio to inform them that she felt they should not be speaking to the driver in that manner, but was met with vulgarity and verbal abuse from one of the two men, who started chasing Ho as she moved toward her bandmates' car.
