Singapore named world's most expensive city: Economist Intelligence Unit
Move over, London and Oslo -- Singapore is now the most expensive city in the world, according to new research published by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) in its Worldwide Cost of Living survey.
Price rises and a stronger currency mean that Singapore now holds the title, in the EIU's report comparing the cost of living between 131 cities around the world with New York as a base.

16 million N95 masks stockpiled in Singapore: report
The government has 16 million N95 masks in Singapore, available for disbursement in the event of an escalation of the haze situation, a ministry official said in Parliament on Tuesday.
Additionally, local retailers have in their inventories 280,000 masks that are ready and available for purchase, even though the ministry stresses they are "generally not needed for short commutes", for instance, from home to school or work.

Kremlin aide warns US of response if sanctions imposed
If the United States were to impose sanctions on Russia over the escalating Ukraine crisis, Moscow might be forced to drop the dollar as a reserve currency and refuse to pay off any loans to US banks, said a Kremlin aide on Tuesday.
Moscow may recommend that all holders of US treasuries sell them in the event that Washington were to freeze the US accounts of Russian businesses and individuals.

Apple's iPhone becoming more compatible with cars
Apple has announced new technology to better incorporate smartphone applications into cars, with Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo previewing its iPhone technology for cars this week at an auto show in Geneva.
Called CarPlay, it will let drivers use their iPhone 5, 5C or 5S use their phones while driving with minimised distraction, said Apple's vice-president of iPhone and iOS product marketing. It currently requires its latest operating system iOS7.
