Brad Pitt wore a name tag at an Oscars event just in case people didn't know who he was
Even world-famous celebrities have crises of identity sometimes.
Arguably one of the most recognisable men on the planet, Brad Pitt was pictured proudly wearing his name badge at the Oscars Luncheon in Los Angeles on Monday - just in case anyone was unsure as to who he was.
In photos taken at the event, which hosts all the nominees for the upcoming Academy Awards, Pitt can be seen attaching his name tag to his suit. The ID badge also displayed the category he was nominated in (Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood).
The 56-year-old was pictured chatting to British actress and fellow Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo while still wearing the badge. He did, however, take it off for the pictures later in the day.
Other nominated stars who attended the prestigious event included Charlize Theron, Florence Pugh (also seen wearing a name tag), Renee Zellwegger, Laura Dern, Robert De Niro and Greta Gerwig.
It's unlikely that anyone at the event didn't know who Pitt was, but we support this sweet effort to blend in. Just recently, Pitt spoke about the perils of fame, discussing the constant press scrutiny he continues to face in a joint interview with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Speaking on the WTF podcast with Marc Maron, Pitt was shocked when DiCaprio said that after the interest peaked at Titanic it slowly began to subside.
Suggesting why he still attracts so much paparazzi and press 30 years into his career, Pitt joked: "I'm just trash mag fodder. Because of my disaster of a personal life, most likely."
The actor has then continued to mock his 'disaster of a personal life' in his acceptance speeches this awards season, saying at the Golden Globes how he wanted to bring his mother as his date but thought twice as "anyone I stand next to they say I'm dating, and that would just be awkward".
A couple of weeks later, at the SAG awards, the Fight Club actor continued on this streak, joking that he'll have to add his most recent accomplishment to his Tinder profile.
