Burger King launches McDonald's knock-off with double quarter pound burger

Burger King's Double Quarter Pound King

In a fiery salvo against its arch rival McDonald's, Burger King has released a double quarter pound burger of their own.

Unlike their competition's flat-top fried version, BK sells theirs on the merits of its flame-grilled patties.

"We're flame grilling the competition," reads the tagline.

Between the two meat patties, the burger features more than half a pound of beef and is topped with American cheese, onions, pickles and ketchup on a sesame seed bun.

How do the sandwiches stack up?

On the nutritional side, the BK version clocks 130 more calories than the McDonald's burger, at 900 calories.

Likewise, BK's Double Quarter Pound King sandwich sells for $5.39, while the McDonald's sandwich retails for less than $5.
