A 55-year-old cabbie was sent to hospital after an accident involving two taxis in Taman Jurong on Friday morning (28 December).

The police said that they were alerted to an accident involving a Trans-cab and an SMRT taxi along Corporation Road towards Yung Ho Road at 12.49am.

The man was conscious when conveyed to National University Hospital via a Singapore Civil Defence Force ambulance.

Yahoo News Singapore understands that the man, the driver of a Trans-cab, was driving on the left side of two lanes while the driver in the SMRT taxi was in the right lane.

He was not able to stop when the SMRT taxi later swerved into his path. He subsequently mounted the kerb on the left side and collided into a nearby tree.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Yahoo News Singapore has reached out to both SMRT and Trans-cab for comment.
