Cabello debuted "I Luv It" featuring rapper Playboi Carti in March before announcing her upcoming fourth albumC,XOXO in May.

"THE NEW ALBUM C,XOXO IS OUT JUNE 28TH," wrote the "Shameless" artist, alongside the forthcoming the LP's cover, a close-up photo of her licking a lollipop that's turned her tongue blue.

"I Luv It" debuted at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, and she performed the track live for the first time during Lana Del Rey's headlining set at the second weekend of Coachella in April.

"Certain things in our human realm do make me feel like I’m in outer space, and the very rare few times where I’ve had incredible chemistry with someone is one of them," Cabello said in a statement about the single.

She continued at the time: "Part of that cocktail is also the emotional drama between you and that person, and the chaos and butterflies and nerves and passion. It’s unsustainable and not peaceful and exhausting, but also, I LUV IT."

Speaking about "I Luv It" with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, Cabello opened up about how C,XOXO collaborators Pablo "El Guincho" Díaz-Reixa (Rosalía's Motomami, FKA TwigsCaprisongs) and Jasper Harris (Jack Harlow's "First Class," Tate McRae's "Greedy") helped her usher in a new sound.

"I do feel like I'm a weirdo, and that's the music that I love, and that's the music that I feel the most proud of making. I think a lot of times it comes to finding people that are weirdos too, and Jasper's a weirdo, Guincho's a weirdo, and I think the three of us were able to just keep it in this bubble of like, we don't give a f---, and we're just going to do what we think is fire," she told the host.

Before C, XOXO, Cabello released three albums: 2018's Camila, 2019's Romance and 2022's Familia.
