Carla Gugino In Talks To Star In Drama ‘Night Electricity’

EXCLUSIVE: Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher) is in talks for one of four female leads in Night Electricity, an indie from her longtime collaborator Sebastian Gutierrez (Jett).

Pic’s plot is under wraps, though it’s been described as a psychological drama with thriller elements. David Lancaster (Whiplash, Nightcrawler) is producing, with Gutierrez set direct from his own script.

Gugino recently landed a Critics Choice Award nomination for her turn as multiple characters in The Fall of the House of Usher, the acclaimed Netflix series from Mike Flanagan, with whom she’s collaborated on The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor, the Stephen King adaptation Gerald’s Game and other projects. Currently, she can be seen starring on The Girls on the Bus, a political drama series that premiered on Max last month, having also been seen of late in Zelda Williams’ horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein for Focus Features.

Other upcoming projects for Gugino include Amazon’s action thriller Heads of State with Idris Elba and the indie The Friend with Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, Constance Wu and Ann Dowd.

The creator of Peacock’s Leopard Skin and Cinemax’s Jett, both of which starred Gugino, Gutierrez has also worked with the actress on a number of feature projects.

Both Gugino and Gutierrez are repped by Untitled Entertainment and Kopeikin Law P.C. Gugino is also with UTA.
