The centre of Ukraine's rebel stronghold of Donetsk came under heavy shelling Thursday for the first time since Moscow and Kiev signed a September 5 truce, an AFP correspondent reported. The eastern city's adminstration said it was checking to see whether there were any casualties, adding that the 6:00 pm (1500 GMT) attack hit a central shopping centre and caused a fire at another location.
