After getting sole custody of daughters Lorin and Venice, Ruffa Gutierrez now faces another issue. Her former husband Yilmaz Bektas  is questioning the court’s decision in granting Ruffa custody of their children.

“Gusto nya kasi ipadala ko yung mga bata doon and hindi rin naman ganun kadali yun eh,” Ruffa said in an interview with "The Buzz."

Last July 14, a report in "Saksi" said that Yilmaz sent an email to GMA News about his disappointment in the court decision.

“How does the court made (sic) a decree in favor of Ruffa without giving me the right to defense (sic) myself and gave (sic) the guardianship right of my children to her?," Yilmaz said in his e-mail.

He added  in the e-mail that he supports his daughters  financially and even offered Ruffa a big sum  of money just to see Lorin and Venice.

“I always gave my money to my children. I would not have offered 2 million dollars to Ruffa in order to see my children for 1 week,” Yilmaz said.

But Ruffa turned down the offer after discussing it with her parents, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama.

Ruffa broke down in her TV5 talk show, "Paparazzi," on July 17 because she felt sad that Yilmaz is questioning the issue of custody over her children when the court already gave her sole custody over Lorin and Venice.  She also denied that Yilmaz is supporting the girls financially.

Ruffa tweeted:  “To clear false reports & to pacify my loved ones who are worried: The Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 107 issued a decision last March 11, 2010, signed by presiding judge Jose L. Bautista, Jr. that I, Ruffa Gutierrez, won SOLE CUSTODY of my 2 daughters while their father, Yilmaz Bektas, was granted visitation rights,” Ruffa tweeted.

Ruffa talked to her former husband to clear things  up after learning that Yilmaz communicated with the local press.

“I tried to pacify him and thank God naman naagapan at ‘yung mga binabalak niya hindi natuloy,” she said.

Ruffa was worried when she first learned about Yilmaz’s e-mail, talking about the custody and his rights to see their children. “I was actually really worried and I was stressed last Wednesday. Kase tumawag sa akin si Tito Ricky Lo and he told me na nag-email raw sa kanya si Yilmaz so I was very worried. Balita ko yung ibang istasyon rin, tumawag raw si Yilmaz sa kanila. Sabi ko, ‘bakit? Anong nangyayari?’,” Ruffa said.

Ruffa hopes that the issue is settled peacefully.

“Nakiusap ako kay Yilmaz at naintindihan naman niya, so hopefully lahat ng balak niyang masama hindi matuloy.”

Ruffa explained that she wants a quiet settlement of the issue since she wants to protect her children.  Besides, Lorin and Venice can now read.

“I’d like to keep everything quiet at kung pwedeng protektahan ang mga anak ko gagawin ko kase syempre my kids are six and seven and nakakapagbasa na sila ng dyaryo. Back then talagang okay lang mag-explain pero ngayon I really have to try to protect them.”
