A 'Chuck E. Cheese' TV Game Show Is in the Works

The nostalgic Chuck E. Cheese, aka everyone's favorite dystopic kids birthday party destination is the the next inspiration for an upcoming TV game show.

Chuck E. Cheese, familiar to many as a "pizza time theater," is turning into a game show for adults that play larger versions of the games they used to play as kids. In the official description, it reads, "The format will feature stand-alone comedic physical challenges where duos of ‘big kids’ (aka adults) will compete over supersized arcade games — including pinball, air hockey, alley roller and the human claw. The top ticket earning duo will get the chance to exchange their tickets for prizes off the massive version of the iconic Chuck E. Cheese prize wall."

The new game show is reminiscent of Netflix's Squid Game and comes from Magical Elves, producers of Top Chef and other hit reality TV shows. Magical Elves co-CEOs Jo Sharon and Casey Kriley released a statement, "Chuck E. Cheese is THE place where a kid can be a kid — but as grown adults, we still have dreams of ruling the arcade, taking on the iconic games we love! We're excited to celebrate these legendary arcade games plus the best of today, all with a super-sized twist."

Chuck E. Cheese was originally founded in the late '70s and currently has 567 locations. Stay tuned for more detail regarding the new game show.
