City centre celebrations for Armed Forces Day
A day of free family activities for Armed Forces Day will take place in Hull city centre.
Queen Victoria Square will play host to the event on Saturday 29 June from 10:00 to 16:00 BST.
Activities on offer include a climbing wall, craft activities, face painting and balloon modelling, as well as military attractions on the city's streets.
Kath Wynne-Hague, head of culture, place and city centre at Hull City Council, said the day was an "opportunity to reflect and thank those who have protected and continue to protect our country”.
Alongside military displays, there will also be a veterans’ marquee with representatives from the Royal British Legion, Aden Vets, National Malay & Borneo, Blind Veterans UK, RASC/RCT and Hull Mind.
Musical performances from The 150 Regiment Band and Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force Band will take place throughout the day, with military-style street performers also taking to the streets.
Councillor Mark Collinson, the Lord Mayor of Hull, will also be in attendance.
