Coronavirus: Jennifer Lopez says wedding to Alex Rodriguez has been ‘affected’ by pandemic
Jennifer Lopez has revealed that her wedding plans have been “affected” by the coronavirus pandemic.
Following the Hustlers star’s engagement to former baseball player Alex Rodriguez in February 2019, rumours have been rife that the couple would tie the knot this summer.
However, in an interview set to air on Tuesday as part of the at-home edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lopez opened up about the upcoming nuptials and admitted their plans were currently in limbo due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
When asked by DeGeneres if the wedding was due to happen imminently, the actor replied: “Any day now?!
“Actually, it did affect it a little bit, so we will see what happens now. Honestly, I really don’t know what’s going to happen now, as far as dates or anything like that.”
Lopez continued: “We’re just kind of in a holding pattern like the rest of the world. It’s something that we’ll have to wait and see in a few months, how this all pans out.”
The couple announced their engagement on Instagram in March 2019, with matching posts showing off the pop star’s large emerald-cut diamond ring.
They began dating in 2017, appearing for the first time as a couple at the Met Gala in May of that year.

In a recent behind-the-scenes YouTube video, Lopez revealed that she wanted her wedding to be big and in a church, adding that she doesn’t “really count” her first two marriages because they happened for the wrong reasons.
Lopez, who was married to Ojani Noa from 1997-1998, Cris Judd from 2001-2003 and Marc Anthony from 2004-2014, said: “I’ve been married three times: once was nine months and once was 11 months, so I don’t really count those.”
According to the singer, her first two marriages didn’t last because she had only got married so she wouldn’t be lonely while juggling her career.

“It seems like in this life you’re always surrounded by people so you’re never lonely but it’s very lonely,” she said.
“So you always want somebody with you. So I felt like if I got married then I would always have somebody but that’s not how life works. That’s not how it goes, a bad reason to get married. Not the right one, the wrong one.
