Cristiano Ronaldo paints his toenails black

After the remarkable Euro campaign, Cristiano Ronaldo has been enjoying his vacation in the US, partying with his celebrity pals and lazing off with his new model girlfriend Cassandre Davis.

In a series of paparazzi pics, Ronaldo can be seen relaxing on poolside with Cassandre, flaunting a well-tanned body and pedicured feet, with his toenails painted black.

Another photo shows him posing with a fan, with his dark nail polish pretty visible in flip flops.

However, this isn’t the first time Ronaldo had painted his toes black. Back in 2010, when he was vacationing in New York with his then girlfriend Irina Shayk, the Portuguese star made headlines for his polished toes.

It is quite evident that there is an indisputable dichotomy when it comes to Ronaldo’s fame; the world admires him as one of the greatest footballer ever, but he has also been a soft target of the media.

It isn’t just his petulance or hubris that puts him in the bad light, which is comprehensible, but when he is scoffed at for his shoe colour or his olive-skinned shaved chest, or for the way he poses with his male friends, that inadvertently throws light on the cliched notions fostered by the world when it comes to gender.

If we can’t digest the sight of a sinewy first-rate footballer in a pair of pink shoes, that shows how twisted our perceptions are when it comes to masculinity.

The rebel in Ronaldo takes a very positive hue whenever he audaciously flaunts his idiosyncratic fashion choices — from wearing a pink flower on his head pairing with a pink baseball cap, to donning skimpy tight shorts. The 31-year-old footballer doesn’t care what the world thinks about his demeanor.

That’s why he is walking through the streets in Miami with his polished feet! In a way, that’s a fitting tribute to the idea of gender fluidity.
