Cristiano Ronaldo and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang under the spotlight as Arsenal battle Man United

Arsenal travel to Manchester United tonight looking to secure successive league wins at Old Trafford for the first time in 42 years.

The Gunners bounced back quickly from a 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool that ended their positive run with a comfortable win over Newcastle and will head north hopeful of sending the hosts into the Ralf Rangnick era on the back of a demoralising defeat.

Rangnick has a watching brief only tonight after being confirmed as United’s new interim manager until the end of the season, after which time he will take up a consultancy role, but he will take charge of the team for the first time when Crystal Palace come to town on Sunday.

Here, Simon Collings picks out three big issues under the spotlight tonight as two old rivals collide...

Lokonga must banish Anfield nightmare

In his last big game, against Liverpool last month, Albert Sambi Lokonga struggled so much that Mikel Arteta hooked him just eight minutes into the second half.

Arteta is expected to keep faith with the Belgian tonight, but he will need to cope better with the occasion and pressure at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo’s pressing in the spotlight

With Rangnick watching on from the stands, Cristiano Ronaldo will want to prove to the new boss that he can fit into his system.

Ronaldo has come under fire for his apparent lack of pressing and he was left on the bench against Chelsea. The Portugal captain has a point to prove tonight.

Aubameyang to silence critics?

Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has now gone four games without scoring and he heads to Old Trafford on the back of a shocking miss from two yards out against Newcastle last weekend.

Arteta has backed the forward to turn things around, though, and Old Trafford is the perfect stage for him to silence his critics.
