Connecting back to nature and outdoor spaces while boasting advanced smart-home technologies, JadeScape effortlessly defines the possibilities of modern-day condo living in Singapore. Set to complete in 2023, seven-tower JadeScape, in the Central Region town of Bishan, is being developed on a close to 400,000 sq ft plot. Tange Associates and Ong & Ong handled the architecture of the project, with Ong & Ong in charge of interior design and Ecoplan Asia looking after the landscape design. The 1,206 units range from one-bedroom condos aimed at older residents to sprawling five-bedroom suites for families as well as penthouses.
Part of the appeal of the residential experience at JadeScape, along with the over 100 outstanding facilities, is the ease of living created through a cutting-edge approach. Clement Ong, AVP for Strategic Planning and Investment at the Banyan Tree Group, and one of this year’s judges, highlights some of these smart home and smart estate management system advancements.
“JadeScape’s cutting-edge smart building technology sets new standards as the condo will have some of the most comprehensive smart-home features of any development in Singapore. Energy-saving air conditioners, where the waste heat will be recycled for the water-heating units to reduce electricity consumption, personal QR code for visitors and face recognition for residents are some of the features that come together with HiLife, Qingjian’s lifestyle platform especially designed for condominium residents.”
The “live smart” elements at JadeScape cover every part of resident’s lives and are designed by Qingjian to create a comfortable environment for all ages. Smarter security includes face-recognition access; an all-seeing doorbell; smoke detectors providing real-time information to the guard house and instant alerts; an IP camera with an audio and video function; and a smart door-lock checking device. Smarter health comes with a water purifier and smart-integrated dishwasher for better hygiene. Smarter care involves a sleep sensor; customised SMART Control Panel to make life easier for elderly residents; and a health monitoring service and caregiver services.
Smarter community features enable residents to order food deliveries via the residents’ app, book condo facilities, and access a curated list of home-help and maintenance services, as well as enjoy on-site activities and events. Smarter efficiency comprises aircon and eco water heaters that cut bills by up to 35 percent, filter dust, and enable residents to set room temperatures remotely.
Smarter living at JadeScape comprises easy maintenance-fee payments through the residents’ app; a remote door-locking system; a lobby video intercom system; real-time sensors checking on availability of the car wash bay; voice-controlled appliances; a QR parcel-retrieval station; and a simple app notification to inform guards when guests are arriving, ensuring visitors are welcomed straightaway.
