Daniel Wu agrees to "Sky On Fire" for Ringo Lam

15 Jun - After his unrecognisable appearance in the movie, "Warcraft: The Beginning", actor Daniel Wu will be making his return to Hong Kong movies with a new film, "Sky On Fire".

As reported on ECNS, the actor recently admitted that he said yes to the Ringo Lam movie without even reading the script.

"John Woo, Ringo Lam, and Tsui Hark are the guys who initiated the new wave of classic Hong Kong. I have always wanted to work with them," said Daniel.

The actor added that although the movie is called "Sky On Fire", to him, it is more or less "City on Fire 2" – referring to Ringo's 1987 classic starring Chow Yun Fat and Danny Lee.

In the new movie, Daniel plays the role of a security agent who is on a mission to protect a scientist amid stunning new research that could lead to new life-saving drugs.

The actor admitted that he did all his action scenes in the movie without using a stunt double.

"I even broke my nose the second day. But at the time, I was more concerned about whether I could continue working with Ringo Lam rather than what my nose looked like," he confessed.

The movie, co-starring Amber Kuo, Joseph Chang, Leon Lai, and Simon Yam, is set to be released next year in February.
