Sir David Attenborough delighted fans this week by joining the world of Instagram, and he's already broken a huge record in the process.
Yep, the naturalist and all-round national treasure managed to reach one million followers in record time – just over four hours, in fact.
This beats Jennifer Aniston to hold the Guinness World Record for fastest time to reach one million followers on Instagram, with the Friends star achieving the feat in five hours and 16 minutes when she joined last October.
Sir David's account – which at the time of writing has reached nearly three million followers – is being run by Colin Butfield and Jonnie Hughes, who worked with the star on new Netflix documentary A Life On Our Planet.
In the first post on the account, the naturalist explained he was joining because "the world is in trouble".
"Continents are on fire," he declared. "Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying. Fish are disappearing from our oceans. The list goes on."
Sir David then promised to post messages to "explain what the problems are and how we can deal with them" over the coming weeks.
A Life On Our Planet will explore how humanity as a species has damaged the planet, with CGI showing how our planet could turn out if we continue on that path, while also telling us what we can do to stop it before it's too late.
It comes after the presenter recently aired BBC documentary Extinction: The Facts, which was deemed "essential viewing" by those who watched.
David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet will be released on Netflix on Sunday, October 4.
