David Hockney commissioned for The Queen's Window, Westminster Abbey

The future site of The Queen's Window, Westminster Abbey, is one of the church’s few remaining clear windows

A stained glass window designed by David Hockney has been commissioned in celebration of the reign of serving British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

Influential contemporary artist David Hockney is planning "a landscape full of blossom that's a celebration every year" for Westminster Abbey in London.

The stained glass window will be designed by Hockney and then fabricated by the Barley Studio in York, Westminster Abbey said in a prepared statement.
