The case of a dead dog discovered with its head shoved into a pipe is being investigated by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA).

The case was first highlighted by Ananthi Naidu, a volunteer with animal welfare group Save Our Street Dogs Singapore (SOSD), who posted photos of the dog on Facebook on Tuesday (24 October).

She wrote, “This photo (was) taken by a old feeder seeking justice for his stray he had been feeding?? This is inhumane act of a beastly human. What did the poor dog do to you????”

According to citizen journalism website Stomp, the mutt was discovered by a retiree near a canal at Jalan Lam Sam – close to the headquarters of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) – last Thursday.
