The DGA national board has elected Brooke Kennedy to replace Jace Alexander as the guild’s 2nd VP. Kennedy, whose directing credits include The Good Wife and Third Watch, has been a member of the DGA board of directors since 2013.

Law & Order director Alexander resigned as the guild’s sixth-ranking elected officer August 3 after he was arrested on child pornography charges in New York. Released on $10,000 bail, his next court appearance is set for November 19. He was arrested on July 29 in Westchester County for “possessing and file-sharing illegal and obscene performances of sexual conduct by children less than seventeen years of age.”

Mathew Penn, whose directing credits include Royal Pains and Damages, was elected to fill Kennedy’s seat on the board of directors. Penn serves as co-chair of the Television Creative Rights Committee and also is a member of the Eastern Directors Council.
