Digital food magazine from Martha Stewart? It's an iPad thing
Martha Stewart has launched a digital subscription service for her popular food magazine Everyday Food.
Beginning this month, iPad owners can now enroll in a digital subscription plan with the publication -- a magazine geared towards the busy home cook. In the September issue, readers will get a week's worth of family dinners, pages of back-to-school lunch ideas, and a menu of Indian-themed dishes to last through the weekend.
Other features include interactive extras like how-to videos, slideshows, shopping lists and more than 50 recipes a month.
Though the app is free, prices range from $1.99 for month to month, to $11.99 for 12-month subscription.
Stewart's other publication Martha Stewart Living is also available as a digital subscription.
The trend towards using tablets in the kitchen has spawned new inventions of specialty items like the Chef Sleeve -- a transparent, resealable bag designed to protect tablets from messy spills.
Bon Appetit also launched a "Pasta Perfect!" app this summer, with a hundred pasta recipes including filled pastas, gnocchi, gnudi and spaetzle.
Food & Wine magazine also offers "The Season's Best Recipes" for the iPad, featuring video demos by celebrity chef Masaharu Morimoto.
