Two men were caught during an attempt to illegally enter Singapore by swimming across the West Johor Strait on Friday (2 December).

The incident occurred past midnight, when police detected two swimmers off the Gedong buoy heading towards the country’s northern coast. The men, aged 22 and 29, were subsequently arrested for unlawful entry into Singapore.

Gedong buoy is located between Johor’s key tourist attraction Puteri Harbour, and Singapore.
