Eddie Peng is happy for "Hidden Man" Oscar bid

23 Oct – Taiwanese actor Eddie Peng recently revealed that he is excited that Jiang Wen's "Hidden Man" was chosen to represent China in their bid for the nomination in the Oscar's Best Foreign Language Film category.

As reported on Singtao Daily, the actor, who appeared at a LONGINES event in Hong Kong recently, shared that he was happy not just for himself as one of the lead stars of the movie, but also for the director and the producer of "Hidden Man".

"When I heard it, I thought to myself that this means that a lot of foreigners will be able to see the movie, pay more attention to Chinese films, and get to know me [as an actor]," he said.

However, Eddie added that the most important thing is that the movie will perform well and liked by a lot of people.

"I am very honored to be a part of it!" he enthused.

"Hidden Man", adapted from the wuxia novel "Xia Yin" by Zhang Beihai, is the third movie from Jiang Wen's "Bullet" series that started with "Let the Bullets Fly" and followed by "Gone with the Bullets". The movie co-stars Jiang Wen and Liao Fan.
