Ella Beatty Says It Was 'So Special' to See Parents Annette Bening and Warren Beatty 'Fall in Love' in “Bugsy”

Ella Beatty got to watch her parents fall in love all over again.

The 24-year-old daughter of Hollywood icons Warren Beatty and Annette Bening said on The Broadway Show with Tamsen Fadal that she and her three siblings recently watched Bugsy — the 1991 movie that the two met on — with their parents.

"It's so special to see your parents falling in love. Oh my gosh, how romantic! We were like, 'Oh this is so [romantic],' " she said. "Oh my gosh, incredible."

Ella, who recently made her Broadway debut in March when she took over for Elle Fanning in Appropriate, noted during the interview that she has been watching more of her parents' work recently. "I saw Reds for the first time a couple of years ago and it changed my life," she said. "What a cinematic masterpiece."

"My dad is devastated every time I tell him I haven't seen a movie of his, so I definitely have more to go, but they're such fantastic performers and artists," she added of her parents. "I'm so inspired by them, every time I see something they've done, I hope I can carry the torch on."

Warren, 87, and Annette, 65, first met on the set of Oscar-winning biopic, which starred the former as 20th-century mobster Benjamin Siegel (aka "Bugsy"). Annette costarred as his girlfriend, Virginia Hill.

During a January appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Annette shared her first impressions of her husband. "So, for me, I have to be honest, I was going to meet him and he was incredibly intelligent. That was honestly the most — [that was] the biggest aphrodisiac," she said. "Funny and super smart. Now, he is also very handsome."

"I remember thinking 'Wow, this guy is so smart and so sharp and funny, but more — just articulate," she also told PEOPLE back in 2022. "He was very talkative. He was very passionate about the movie that he was about to make. He had a lot to say — and he was charming, for sure."

In 2016, Warren told PEOPLE that he was immediately interested in his wife when they met. “I remember losing interest in the garlic chicken I was eating within 20 seconds," he said at the time. "And the garlic chicken had been very good."

The couple married in 1992. In addition to Ella, they share three older children, including Stephen, 32, Benjamin, 29, and Isabel, 27.
