Ellen Chan has broken up with Martin

11 Mar - Things did not go well with Ellen Chan's love life. After announcing her engagement with Daniel Wu's cousin Martin not even a month ago, she admitted that the two of them have broken up.

According to Mingpao News, Ellen, who spoke to the media about the unfortunate event, shared that she had initiated a breakup five times throughout the course of their relationship, but that both of them fought to maintain it.

However, Ellen said that the breakup is real this time, and that she is really disheartened by their relationship.

"He wasn't with me on my birthday and on Valentine's Day. He said he was busy with work in Hong Kong and couldn't be with me in Beijing. But when I returned to Hong Kong, he didn't come to meet me," said Ellen.

The actress stated that Martin gave an excuse that he didn't want to become the focus of the media.

"When he was pursuing me, a lot of sweet words were said. Love is really blind. But as soon as we announced the relationship, he became completely different," she said.

Ellen said that she took the initiative to end their relationship, and stressed that they are not even friends now. However, she admitted that Martin has been trying to save their relationship again.

"My mother often said to me, it's better not to get married than marrying the wrong man," she said.

As to reports saying that Martin was seen acting chummy with Michael Chan's daughter at a party recently, Ellen said that she didn't know about the matter, but thanked the paparazzi for letting her know what Martin actually had been doing on the day that she couldn't contact him.

"It doesn't matter to me anymore," she added.
