Facebook takes top two spots among all-time most popular apps

A new report by analyst firm App Annie finds Facebook and Facebook Messenger coming one after the other to take the top spots among the iOS apps with the most worldwide downloads.

Rounding out the top five all-time most-downloaded apps are YouTube, Instagram and Skype, while others in the top ten include Google Maps and Twitter.

The ten most popular iOS apps by all-time worldwide downloads, along with their release date, are as follows:

1. Facebook (July 2008)
2. Facebook Messenger (August 2011)
3. YouTube (September 2012)
4. Instagram (October 2010)
5. Skype (March 2009)
6. WhatsApp Messenger (May 2009)
7. Find My Phone (June 2010)
8. Google Maps (December 2012)
