It feels like the first time: Hulu announces “Virgin Island ”reality dating series

They made it through the wilderness, somehow they made it through... and they ended up on a brand new dating show.

A collection of single people looking for love will soon be packing their bags and charting a course for Virgin Island — and no, we’re not talking about any of overseas territories.

On Wednesday, Hulu Originals announced that it has ordered a brand new reality dating series titled Virgin Island. Produced by ITV America (Love Island USA, Queer Eye) and Plimsoll Productions (A Real Bug’s Life), the 10-episode series will follow a group of — you guessed it! — virgins who will spend an unforgettable summer dating and going on adventures together at an island resort.

A press release reveals that the show's cast, who abstain from sexual intercourse for their own personal reasons, “will date, participate in unique and romantic activities together, and make major decisions and commitments to one another.”

The series also plans to explore its cast's “varying reasons for waiting” to have sex for the first time, and promises “plenty of unexpected twists, including new arrivals and departures, all culminating in a dramatic finale where burgeoning relationships are put to the test.”

Based on its initial description, viewers can expect the series to be somewhat similar to the U.S. or U.K. versions of Love Island, which also features romantic group challenges, an elimination process, and lots of hot new bombshells entering the villa.

The release concluded: “From flirty encounters to meaningful bonds and the inherent drama of navigating intimacy, the series’ singles will discover that the road to love can be unpredictable for everyone.”

Those who meet the prerequisite requirements for the show — including being over the age of 21 — can actually apply to set sail for Virgin Island here.
