Partizan winger Filip Stevanovic has added fuel to suggestions he is on the verge of joining Manchester United with a cryptic social media post.

The 17-year-old has been linked with a number of top European clubs after impressing during a breakthrough campaign with the Serbian outfit, in which he made 35 appearances.

Local outlet Republika claimed this week that United have agreed an £11million deal to sign the teenager, who would then be sent straight back on loan to Partizan for next season.

Partizan met United during the Europa League group stages last year, and on Friday, as speculation that a deal was close to being announced, Stevanovic posted a picture from the game at Old Trafford, accompanied by the ‘eyes emoji’.

If the deal is confirmed, it would be the first signing of what looks likely to be a busy summer for United as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to accelerate his rebuild after securing Champions League football.

Jadon Sancho remains the Norwegian’s no1 target, despite Borussia Dortmund having dug their heels in by claiming the deadline for a deal to be done has now passed.
