Fire breaks out in HDB flat in Redhill, one dead
A man in his 60s was found dead in a bedroom of an HDB flat at 78 Redhill Lane Thursday morning after a fire broke out in the unit.
Alerted to the incident at 8:06am, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said firefighters had to force open the main door of the unit in the fourth floor.
A fire involving a bed in the bedroom was extinguished within five minutes using a water jet, the SCDF said.
"A body was found in the bedroom and was pronounced dead by an SCDF paramedic," it said.
The cause of fire is being investigated.
