First Dates Hotel airs surprise marriage proposal in series finale
At the end of last night series finale of First Dates Hotel viewers were treated to a surprise proposal at the end of one of the dates, which thankfully, went to plan... ish.
Couple Julian and Vanessa were sitting together on a sofa in the gardens of the hotel when Julian got down on one knee and told Vanessa, "Life's about - some of it at least - is about enjoyment. And, up to this point, I thought I would mark the occasion by buying you a little present," he said as he pulled a little box from his pocket.
"So I've got something for you in this box. What I'm trying to say is, Vanessa, I know you like sapphires, and that is a real sapphire, and I know you would like me to go down on one knee and ask you... will you marry me?"
Eventually Vanessa replied, "Yes, of course I will. I can't think of anything I'd love better." To which Julian replied, "That's f***ing great news". Completely fair reaction, Julian.
After the proposal the couple appeared for their post-date interview, with Vanessa showing off the sapphire to the camera, before promptly dropping it on the floor while a not-so-impressed Julian looked on...
