Welcome to this week's round-up of food deals, discounts and freebies.
Best supermarket deals
This week we’re going to kick off with Tesco. For something quick, Uncle Ben's Boil in Bag Long Grain Rice (eight packs) are reduced from £2.76 to £1.38, this Weight Watchers Bolognese Bake is £1.35 (was £2.50) and it’s any three for £5 on various ready-made veggies including 600g of cauliflower cheese (usually £2.50 each), 850g of mash (usually £2 each) and 400g of winter vegetable (usually £2 each).
You can also buy Discovery tortillas for 79p (was £1.59), Tesco Bake at Home crusty white rolls for £1 (was £1.69), Knorr Chicken Tonight Creamy Mushroom for 99p (was £1.99), and for your store cupboards grab Honey Monster Foods Sugar Puffs 625g for £1.49 (was £2.98), Cheerios 600g for £1.54 (was £3.09) and Red Sky crisps 150g for £1 (was £1.99).
Over at Asda packs of Quaker Oat So Simple Original (20 per pack) have 98p off at £2, packs of Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Apple (6x37g) have £1.18 off, now £1 each, and packs of Birds Eye Chunky Fish Fingers (six per pack) have 68p, now £2.
For a sweet treat, Cadbury Fabulous Fingers and Asda Mini Ice Cream Rolls (10x25g) are both half price at £1. Or if you’re planning a bit of home baking this weekend 500g bags of various dried fruits including Chosen by You Home Baking Mixed Dried Fruit and Seedless Raisins are £1 each (was £1.54) and bags of Golden Marizpan are also £1 (was £1.56).
Grab some hot cross buns for 23p (was 79p) at Sainsbury’s; you can also buy bags of six kiwis for 74p (was £1.49), Doritos Salsas for 89p (was £1.78), Angel Cake for £1 (was £1.54). Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Cooked & Peeled Jumbo King Prawns are also half-price at £2.50 and you can still pick up Young's Chip Shop Fish Fillets in Bubbly Batter (four per pack - 400g) for £1.99 (was £3.99).
It’s also BOGOF on 390g Napolina chopped tomatoes in tomato juice (usually £1.25 each) and until the 17th April it’s two for one on Pizza Express pizzas (usually £4 each) and you can buy various Gü desserts for £2 (was £3.59) – try Tangy Key Lime Pies, After Dark Hot Chocolate Soufflés, or After Dark Limited Edition Blackforest Gâteaux.
Film night wouldn’t be the same without some sweets and this weekend you can buy pouches of big brand chocs such as Maltesers, Galaxy Minstrels and Revels, all reduced from £2.09 to £1.04. If you want a savoury treat, Walker’s Sensations are 99p (was £1.99) and it’s two for £3 on various nibbles including Twiglets and KP Nutty Nibbles Biscuit & Chocolate Mix.
Heading to Morrisons chicken drumsticks and thighs are half-price (now £2 per pack), it’s two for £2 on Richmond Irish Recipe Skinless Sausages and Prime Fayre Rindless Back Bacon (usually £1.69 each) and two for £3 on Tulip Pigs in Blankets (usually £2 each). You can also grab some cheap Easter leftovers including Morrisons Easter Bunnies Cake for £2.50 (was £5), Cadbury Gateau with Mini Eggs for £1.25 (was £2.50), or BOGOF Lyons Battenberg and Fabulous Bakin Boys treats (usually £1.49 each).
There are more BOGOF deals on dairy including Frijj Milkshake 500ml (usually £1.20 each), Yoplait Yop Yogurt Drink 500g (usually 99p each), Petit Filous Fromage Frais/Little Desserts 6 packs (usually £1.50 each) and Lake District Mature Cheddar 350g (usually £3.99 each).
This weekend at Lidl you can save 50% on eight pork sausages, now 74p; red peppers, now 40p each; and McCoy's Ridge Cut Classic Variety Pack, now 99p. These three offers are only available on Saturday and Sunday but for other bargains, look out for 540g of chicken breast fillets for £3.29 (70p off), Pilgrim’s Choice Extra Mature Cheddar for £2.49 (£2 off), loose fresh vine tomatoes for £1.29/kg (70p off), frozen fruit packs for £1.79 (20p off) and Weetabix for £2.49 (50p off).
Finally, check out the special offers this week from online gourmet butcher Westin Gourmet which includes 22% off Diced Chicken Breast Fillets, now £3.20 for 500g, 20% off Boneless Pork Loin, now £13.50 for a 2.5kg joint and 17% off Wasabi Mustard, now £1.95.
Drink deals
You can already save up to 50% on selected wines at Tesco Wine but you can also use the latest code to save even more. Enter XXMKRX at the checkout (whether you’re a new or an old customer) and if you spend at least £50 you can knock £10 off your bill! Do it now though as they must be delivered by Monday 16th April.
At Virgin Wines the sale ends this Sunday so there are some bargains to be had in the last push to clear some stock.
And, at Majestic Wine you can save 20% on Spanish wine and save £6 when you buy two bottles of Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2010/2011, reduced to £5.99 each (usually £8.99 a bottle).
